| A $15M crematorium was recently commissioned and opened for use by the general public at Blairmont,NFL Jerseys Cheap, West Bank Berbice. Demand for cremation facilities as an alternative to burial, is growing for various reasons including the congestion and difficulties in maintaining burial grounds.The land for the site was donated to the BCMG by GuySuCo. Construction started some time last year. At the commissioning, words of thanks were expressed by Mr. Persaud to special donors including the sugar company and Toolsie Persaud Ltd, Ganesh Parts,Wholesale China Jerseys, David Persaud Investments, Lakeram Harriprashad Sawmills,wholesale jerseys, Bisnauth Singh of the USA, Narendra Hiralall and GafSons Ltd.The Region Five Chairman promised to rehabilitate the access road to the site very soon.“We have been raising funds to establish a modern, state-of-the-art kind of crematorium that will focus on relieving the pain and suffering that are associated with death,” said Mr. Persaud.Persaud added that the project also featured the element of beauty and nature. “This is why we have the memorial gardens, which, just by the ambience that will be created, will remind people that there is life after death.”Persaud said that GuySuCo has donated one acre of the land and the location is one which is very accessible and very close to the Berbice River. The access road to the site will be such that persons can drive right up to the pyre. Visitors, mourners and well- wishers can have facilities for car parking, he said.“There will be large, trees that provide shade and ambience and there will be space that provides seating for about 200 persons.”Additionally, spots on the site can be purchased by families so that they can display photos of their dead relatives.The idea of establishing such a facility came to Mr. Persaud several years ago while he was thinking about the death of his mother and how difficult it was for him to have her cremated. “I had to fetch the dead a long way and stand in the sun for a long time. There was no bathroom facility.” |
