| Anticipation is high among local entrepreneurs preparing to attend the third Caribbean-China Economic and Trade Forum this September at the high-end Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.The theme of the Forum is “DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION, WIN FOR ALL.”The local Private Sector Business Community is being mobilized by the Guyana-China Business Council which was itself resuscitated earlier this year in response to the need for increased collaboration between the Private Sector and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).Clinton WilliamsThe Forum is being co-hosted by the Governments of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the People’s Republic of China. Regional Ministers with responsibility for Trade from Barbados, the Bahamas, Cuba, Dominica, Jamaica, Grenada, Guyana and Suriname have all been invited to attend and the Chinese contingent will include Business Leaders and Members of Government.The Forum has been structured to provide opportunities for businesses via meetings with Public and Private Sector Organizations from China which have expressed an interest in financing projects in the Region, and in Joint Venture with local Private Sector.Bilateral/Face to Face Business Meetings with Chinese delegates will also be encouraged during the forum.More than 30 entrepreneurs operating in Guyana have indicated interest in participating in the Economic forum.
