Two young Essequibo fishermen were the latest victims of pirates. The men who had suffered three previous attacks, said the most recent incident has left them in a state of distress and much poorer.Haresh Singh,Huarache Shoes For Men, 36, of Sparta and Param Seepersaud, of Golden Fleece, Essequibo Coast, said that the incidents occurred on Friday and again on Monday. They are now saying that they do not know to whom to turn for help since the relevant authorities they have contacted are yet to render assistance to them.Singh said the incident occurred right before his eyes Friday morning,Nike Air Max 1 Mens Sale, around 6:30am. He said that he was in his boat “arbattie 4”, about 12 miles off Anna Regina when he noticed another boat moored near his 850-pound seine.Singh said he watched how the incident unfolded before his eyes,Nike Air Max Zero Black, helplessly. His only alternative, since he did not want to risk his life, was to forward calls to both the police and Army at Anna Regina. The only response he got came from the Department of Fisheries who reported that they were not equipped with a boat to render any assistance. “If they did turn up,Undefeated Air Max 97 For Sale, they had enough time to catch them.”He said that he was the victim of acts of piracy thrice before.Singh said that this attack really shook him up since his losses amounted to $2.5M. He recognised a red, grey and white boat with at least three men.Singh said he needs assistance to go back at sea,Nike Air Vapor Max Flyknit 2017, since he has only a small amount of seine remaining. The other fisherman, Param Seepersaud, of Golden Fleece, Essequibo Coast, said that he was attacked on Monday night last.Seepersaud who was attacked and robbed this year, twice,Nike Vapor Max Plus, said that he was robbed also of his seine, which he recently bought. It weighed 1200 pounds. The frustrated fisherman said he is presently indebted. On a previous occasion in March, he lost another 350-pound of seine. Seepersaud said he borrowed the $2.5M to purchase the seine. He, as well as Singh, is calling on the Ministry of Agriculture to pay keen attention to the problem of piracy and to implement measures whereby fishermen can feel safe at all times since fishing is their only livelihood.“It’s not easy when you are indebted to the bank. It becomes even difficult to even consider borrowing monies.”The fishermen said four other boats were attacked on the Essequibo Coast this past week.
