A youngster who graced the front page of the Kaieteur News paper on Tuesday last has been charged yet again, after he already faced the court earlier this week for the offence of larceny from a person. This time the Women Lawyer’s Association says youngster who appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine- Beharry was not required to plead to the charge of unlawful and malicious wounding.Delroy ThomasDelroy Thomas was identified by one Andrew Johnson who claimed that he had been wounded by the defendant at E Field Sophia.According to the prosecution the police had indicated their interest in the man since November 7 but had failed to locate him. It was later revealed that through the broadcasting of MTV’s court round up and Kaieteur’s publication of the man’s photo,Cheap NFL Jerseys China, the defendant was subsequently charged when the complainant had pointed him out as the culprit.The facts read that on the day of the incident Thomas and Johnson were travelling on a public minibus when an argument ensued between the two persons. On disembarking the minibus Thomas drew a knife and dealt the victim several stabs causing him to be hospitalized.The defendant made good his escape.The prosecution asked that Johnson be remanded back to jail and the man’s matter be transferred to another court.Johnson was later told that he would remain in police custody where he would make another appearance at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court on December 19.Johnson faced the court on Wednesday last, accused of stealing a cell phone and jewelry from an unsuspecting woman occupied with her Christmas shopping. The youngster while trying to make his escape from the scene of the crime was almost ran over by a passing vehicle.Upon hearing the woman screaming that the youngster was a thief, the said driver gave chase of the alleged crook. Others reportedly joined in the pursuit where Johnson found himself cornered in a yard on Church and Carmichael Streets.After a search was conducted on Johnson it had revealed that the man had several other phones in his possession. He was held on to and later handed over to the police.
