Guyana Water Incorporated, GWI, is concerned about recent and on going acts of trespassing at the Company’s Central Ruimveldt Water Treatment Plant, which is currently in the final stages of completion.Having made several attempts to stop this practice that can prove harmful to human life and limb the company says that it is now prepared to take harsh legal action.The Company states that it has observed youths of the Central Ruimveldt community as they continually destroy portions of the perimeter fence surrounding the facility in their efforts to gain access.The company also points to eyewitnesses’ accounts of children riding bicycles and performing stunts in one of the facility’s most hazardous areas, the “backwash lagoon”.
