| The body of Courtney Apple, the mechanic who was feared drowned, was yesterday morning recovered near Echarak Falls on the Potaro River.Apple went missing last Monday following a boat accident in the vicinity.Relatives disclosed that the 41 year-old had left the “Backdam” with a cousin and was heading to a community near the Kaieteur Falls when tragedy struck.The man’s mother, Viola Apple, told Kaieteur News that she received word of the mishap on Monday and spoke with the cousin who was with Courtney Apple in the boat.This newspaper understands that the man and his cousin were travelling in the boat when it hit some rocks and became badly damaged, almost splitting in two.The cousin, Neil James, jumped into the river and beckoned Apple to do the same thing so they could swim to shore.
