| A mother,Jatavis Brown Chargers Jersey, who claimed that frustration and problems with her ‘child father’ led her to abandoning her baby at a roadside,Larry Csonka Dolphins Jersey, was yesterday ordered to pay a fine of $100,000, with an alternative of spending three months in jail.Jewel CoatesThe woman,Jermon Bushrod Dolphins Jersey, Jewel Coates, 35, of West Ruimveldt,Matt Darr Dolphins Jersey, Georgetown pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on September 20, last, by commission or omission,Chuck Bednarik Eagles Jersey, she willfully contributed to a child being in need of protective intervention, under the Child Protection Act 2009.However, at a September 22,Fletcher Cox Eagles Jersey, court hearing she pleaded not guilty to the charge after appearing before Magistrate Faith McGusty in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.Coates had earlier told the court that she no longer wanted custody of the child. She claimed that she was frustrated and pointed out that she was having problems with the child’s father.Police Prosecutor Seon Blackman had told the court that a relative of Coates,Kenjon Barner Eagles Jersey, unknowing to her,Arian Foster Dolphins Jersey, followed her and the baby through West Ruimveldt Village. Blackman related that the relative who was walking behind Coates, observed the mother, placing the young baby at the roadside.According to the Prosecutor, when a dog walked in the baby’s direction, Coates turned back and picked up the child and continued walking.Blackman said that the relative continued walking behind Coates and again saw her place the baby on the road way. However, the prosecutor pointed out that on this occasion, Coates walked away, leaving the baby behind.The court was told that the relative rescued the child and reported the matter to the East Ruimveldt Police station. While in police custody,Kyle Emanuel Chargers Jersey, Coates remained silent, when the allegation was put to her.Coates’s baby is currently in custody of her family. |
