'Quilt for Two Rivers' On Display
SISTERS, Ore. Forest Service, ?Quilt for Two Rivers? seeks to raise awareness of the stunning waterways that frame the Sisters Country. Whychus Creek and Oakley Holbrook Lenses the Metolius River flow from the mountains toward their confluence with the Deschutes River, and have been enjoyed by residents and visitors alike for generations.
Many regional groups are working together to restore and protect these treasured resources, but none more beautifully than Longchamp Le Pliage Medium this collaborative effort of 20 of the Pacific Northwest?s foremost fabric artists. These quilters have combined their talents to create a masterpiece exhibit: a 40 foot quilt Tiffany Bracelet made up of 17 panels with Whychus Creek running through and connecting each individual segment. Four additional panels feature the waterfalls of Whychus Creek.
In her blog post, Mary Stiewig of Redmond said, ?I feel honored to have been asked to Nike Store Melbourne.html participate in this amazing project along with 20 ?Master Quilters? from Central Oregon. This has been an enlightening journey, both in contributing to such a worthy cause, and in enabling me to add to my quilting experience.? The exhibit will be on display for the month of June at Black Butte Ranch near Polo Ralph Lauren Nz Sisters, and a special Artists? Reception will be held on June 15 at 5 pm. Both events are free, and open to the public. The installation will exhibit at Clearwater Gallery in Sisters during the month of July and then travel the Northwest for up to a year.
In addition, the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show (SOQS) is holding a ?Naming Contest? for the 17 panel installation of quilts. The public is invited to submit an unlimited number of possible names for consideration on the project?s Facebook page between now and May 18. Judges will select several finalist names; post them at the Fake Ray Ban Aviators Name the Quilt contest tab, with Facebook fan voting from May 22 ? May 25. The person who submits the winning name will receive $100 and a discounted ?Sneak Away? package at FivePine Lodge in Sisters. For duplicate submissions, Nike Britomart the prize will be awarded to the FIRST person who submits the name.
SOQS is seeking a donor who will be gifted the 17 panel installation for a donation of $20,000 or more. The four waterfall Le Pliage Longchamp panels will be gifted to new donors of $1,500 or more. More information about donating to this project is available on our website.
