The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security yesterday honoured one of severalMinister Jennifer Webster hands over the cheque to Junior Hackettpromises made to the Hackett family of East La Penitence, last October.Dead: Tammica HackettThe promise came after a tree fell and killed their five-year-old daughter, Tammica Hackett.Minister Jennifer Webster yesterday handed over the cheque for $286,000 to Junior Hackett, the father of the dead child. The Minister yesterday said that her Ministry had given the commitment to help the family rebuild their home.The cheque is payable to the Beckles Lumber yard. Webster further told the media that the Ministry has already started the process in assisting the family with attaining a house lot.The little girl attended the East La Penitence Primary School and was in grade one. Days after her death, workers from the City Council cut down several trees that posed a threat to homes in the area. This newspaper was told that another donation is to be made on Saturday by the Ministry.
