New Paltz Village Board choice Donald Kerr vows to keep running despite petition being rejected
Village Mother board candidate Donald Kerr vowed Thursday night to continue his campaign for just a Village Board seat and sometimes it Timberlands Boots means waging a write around campaign.
Kerr, who was running on the Collaborative Party line, and original village Trustee Rebecca Rotzler, who sought to Buy Timberland Boots run on the Innovation Party series, had their nominating Vibram 5 Fingers Brisbane petitions rejected this week by the Ulster County Plank of Elections.
The Board of Elections determined that 23 with the 114 signatures filed by Kerr and 30 of the 117 filed by Rotzler were being invalid, leaving both applicants with fewer than the 1 hundred signatures needed to be on the May 6 ballot.
"We are appealing your choice, and we are confident that the charm will be successful," stated Kerr, a former New Paltz school table president. "I plan to remain a candidate, no matter what."
Kerr said the particular petitions had fewer signatures versus the candidates would have liked as they decided to run only in past times two weeks.
"Rebecca Rotzler and I decided overdue to get into the race and therefore accounts for the number of signatures that were collected," he said. "I think just a question of not having that many days with the Easter holiday break before the deadline. There wasn't that many days to gather signatures even as had made the decisions running."
The challenge to the applications was filed by Victoria Danskin, merely not available for comment on Thurs.
Kerr contends the Tiffany And Co Bracelet Cheap effort to keep them off the ballot has shown that people in favor of merging the town in addition to village governments are working to prevent challenges to questionable facts used by supporters of the merging.
"Many numbers that have been presented in public places have been subsequently withdrawn or modified," he said. "It is not possible to make any sort of good determination or good evaluation of the issue of consolidation given the information that's been presented to the public. In .
Also, Kerr said, "there are those who find themselves looking at this as a one particular issue election, and that also is unfortunate because there is a lot of stuff going on."
Rotzler was not available for discuss Thursday.
